چکیده

This paper presents a new s cumulative constraint which generalizes the original cumulative constraint in different ways. The two most important aspects consist in permitting multiple cumulative resources as well as negative heights for the resource consumption of the tasks. This allows modeling in an easy way new scheduling and planning problems. The introduction of negative heights has forced us to come up with new propagation algorithms and to revisit existing ones. The first propagation algorithm is derived from an idea called sweep which is extensively used in computational geometry; the second algorithm is based on a combination of sweep and constructive disjunction, while the last is a generalization of task intervals to this new context. A real-life timetabling problem originally motivated this constraint which was implemented within the SICStus finite domain solver and evaluated against different problem patterns.

Filtering for a Continuous Multi-Resources cumulative Constraint with Resource Consumption and Production

Within the framework of continuous and multiresources cumulative constraints, a task T expresses a piecewise linear resource function and is represented by a sequence of p contiguous trapezoid sub-tasks with variable durations and heights. In this context, this paper provides an algorithm in O(p) for filtering the resource assignment and the temporal attributes of such a task, according to a tr...

A New Bi-Objective Model for a Multi-Mode Resource-Constrained Project Scheduling Problem with Discounted Cash Flows and four Payment Models

The aim of a multi-mode resource-constrained project scheduling problem (MRCPSP) is to assign resource(s) with the restricted capacity to an execution mode of activities by considering relationship constraints, to achieve pre-determined objective(s). These goals vary with managers or decision makers of any organization who should determine suitable objective(s) considering organization strategi...

A Continuous Multi-resources cumulative Constraint with Positive-Negative Resource Consumption-Production

This article first introduces an extension of the classical cumulative constraint: each task is no more a rectangle but rather a sequence of contiguous trapezoid sub-tasks with variable duration and heights. The resource function is no more constant but is a positive or negative piecewise linear function of time. Finally, a task is no more pre-assigned to one resource, but to a task corresponds...

Multi-objective scheduling and assembly line balancing with resource constraint and cost uncertainty: A “box” set robust optimization

Assembly lines are flow-oriented production systems that are of great importance in the industrial production of standard, high-volume products and even more recently, they have become commonplace in producing low-volume custom products. The main goal of designers of these lines is to increase the efficiency of the system and therefore, the assembly line balancing to achieve an optimal system i...

A Bi-objective Pre-emption Multi-mode Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem with due Dates in the Activities

In this paper, a novel mathematical model for a preemption multi-mode multi-objective resource-constrained project scheduling problem with distinct due dates and positive and negative cash flows is presented. Although optimization of bi-objective problems with due dates is an essential feature of real projects, little effort has been made in studying the P-MMRCPSP while due dates are included i...
